Default E/D Djinn Farmer

I use this build to farm the Djinn in the beginning of The Hidden City of Ahdashim.
You can get there by talking to the Key of Ahdashim in Dasha Vestibule.

Equipment:

Galigord's Stone Staff
Any armor will work

Attributes:

Earth Magic - 16 (12+3+1)
Energy Storage - 9 (6+3)
Earth Prayers - 11

Skills:
Stone Daggers
Sliver Armor
Earth Attunement
Ether Renewal {E}
Armor of Earth
Stoneflesh Aura
Mystic Regeneration
Conviction

Enter the area and head towards the Djinn(I start with the left side). Cast Earth Attunement, Armor of Earth, Stoneflesh, Mystic Regen and aggro.
Hit Conviction right after this. Round up all the Djinn, try to get the best grouping possible but it doesn't really matter much. Keep refreshing your enchantments.

When you're ready hit Sliver followed by Ether Renewal (you should be a little low on energy by now), pick a target and spam Stone Daggers.
With all of the enchantments up you'll be gaining 14 energy per cast and it'll fill you up pretty quick.

It's best to use Renewal when you have all 6 of the enchantments up for maximum energy return. Try and target the Sapphire Djinns first,
then the Diamond Djinns, then the Ruby Djinns. Sapphires with heal themselves with Mystic Vigor and with the Diamond Djinns healing they can be
pretty hard to take down without a lot of damage from Sliver and spamming of Daggers.

I netted about 3-6k per run and takes about 15-20 minutes or so. Got many essences with minor runes and insignias, and there is always that rare chance
that you can salvage a sapphire from them, along with a bunch of merchant food.

Feedback is appriciated seeing that this is my first build submission.

I don't know this particular zone, but I'd favor Kinetic Armor over Armor of Earth in almost any Ether Renewal build.

It's also a big sacrifice -- 50-60 energy/minute, plus some health -- to take Energy Storage below 12.

And do you really need three armor skills plus hardcore regen?

All that said, I must confess I haven't solo farmed djinn myself, so I don't have anything better to offer that's tested.

EDIT: OK, I went out and practiced outside Dzonakor Bastion (sp?) I see the problem. Armor-ignoring mesmer damage from the Roaring Ether Claws, plus burning. Well, non-stop spamming counters Wastrel's Demise, and I still don't see the point of two different skills adding to AL.

I think with a bit of practice I can get something like

Ether Renewal
Earth Attunement
Channeling
Stoneflesh Aura
Kinetic Armor
Sliver Armor
Aura of Restoration
Stone Daggers

to work, if I utterly machine-gun Stone Daggers. (Assuming that energy denial doesn't shut that down ...)

I'm seeing where you'd like to have ridiculous amounts of regeneration mixed in. But unless the mix of mesmers is less where you're farming, I'm not seeing how you beat energy denial.

Oh. No Kinetic Armor = less spell spamming and need for energy? But then how do you beat Wastrel's Demise?

The three armor spells are there for a few reasons. Stoneflesh and Armor of Earth are there to protect you and Sliver is there for damage. Kinetic would work also, but would reguire more spamming of skills and with your energy management only available every 30 seconds, spamming contantly could turn out bad.

Also, the flame Djinns keep you burning most of the time, so with this many enchantments, you are still at +10 regen (whe sliver and renewal are up).

As for the Ether's, there aren't many of them in the Hidden City, so the energy denial and armor ignoring damage is nothing to worry about.

In factions, you can farm the Kirin and Undergrowths in Pongmei Valley, in Night fall you can farm the bugs right outside Yolan Haven(watch for the quick anti-farm code though, lol) and in Prophecies you can do Minos in Elona Reach and the Droks Trolls. Not all with this build but with similar stuff, just look around the farmin forums, they are all there.

Vermin in Factions
Ettins in Prophecies
Sand Elementals in Prophecies
Hydras in Prophecies
Sand Drakes in Prophecies
Cobalts in Nightfall (V. Mines)

I've farmed all of the above pretty profitably.

just fast and clean, ele is very good for vermin runs

for ethers try serpents quickness + obsi flesh...
for djinns try glyph of renewal + silver armor, giving you half recast on it

to farm the ethers and djinn at Mirror of Lyss together,

I used
silver armor
obs flame
crystal wave
teinai crystal
shadow of haste
dash/dark escape
Shadow form
death charge

This build might be slow since you need 1 min cooldown/recharge time between each shadow form.

Can even kill djinn bosses like Korr, Korschek, Churaham, Kormab, hajkor, Yamirron (ether boss)

I'm resurrecting this thread because I'm farming those quite a bit right now, even if without luck for gems. I run a slightly modified version of the OP's build, seeing that you really don't need convinction and aura of restoration works much better. Moreover, I find kinetic armor absolutely superior to armor of earth: this build generates heaps of energy when it goes off, and you'll be constantly spamming spells.

So, I run this:

[card]Stone Daggers[/card][card]Kinetic Armor[/card][card]Earth Attunement[/card][card]Aura of Restoration[/card][card]Stoneflesh Aura[/card][card]Mystic Regeneration[/card][card]Sliver Armor[/card][card]Ether Renewal[/card]

Earth Magic = 12+3+1
Energy Storage = 10+1
Earth Prayers = 8

weapons = totem axe + 45/-2 (when enchanted) shield

You can never really die with this build, and I guess there is still some overkill, even if I don't know what I could take out to put in some higher damage spell. In fact, the only problem witht he build is that it's pretty slow.

P.S. all this only applies to the Hidden City farming ground, don't try this in Mirror of Lyss or the Ethers will own you within seconds: you need an Obsidian Flesh or Shadow Form build to farm there.
